why submit to our zine?

Unsilence educational content is rooted in the firsthand experiences of individuals from different communities and perspectives. To shed light on hidden stories of social injustice and human rights, Unsilence is looking for content told from many points of view. Selected content will be compiled into a Zine to be handed out at Unsilence events and possibly distributed for a small donation to the nonprofit.

content we're looking for

◆ Poems
◆ Photographs
◆ Song lyrics
◆ Journal entries and random thoughts
◆ Drawings and paintings
◆ Short stories
◆ Jokes
◆ Other works of art and non-art

guiding questions

Before you submit your content, please consider the following guiding questions:
◆ Does your content shed light on the theme of 'vulnerability'?
◆ How does your content connect in some way to social justice or human rights?
◆ Does your content reflect your own experience? Or something you witnessed?
◆ Do you feel comfortable with your content being seen by strangers?

support

At Unsilence, we know that telling your hidden story of injustice can be extremely difficult. While we cannot provide direct support and services, we do recommend a number of excellent resources and helplines that support individuals with a range of issues, including grief, mental health, domestic violence, trafficking, suicide, homelessness, and discrimination.

your privacy

If your content is selected to be part of our Unsilence educational content, your identity will remain anonymous. Before submitting content, please read our Privacy Policy and Submission Terms & Conditions.  We will reach out to you if your content is selected.
